It’s summer vacation! A great time to play and learn at The Broadway Workshop! This year, we’re planning three exciting Camp programs: one in Colchester, VT and two in the heart of New York’s Broadway Theatre District.

One Week musical theatre camp in New York City

CAMP: NYC 2010 Special guest teaching artists and staff will include Broadway stars from Wicked, Mary Poppins, Shrek: The Musical, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia!, Avenue Q and many more.

The Broadway Workshop’s camp allows young actors of ALL SKILL LEVELS the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Broadway.

This five-day camp brings the best theatrical workshops and Master Classes directly to our students. Campers will take part in Master Classes focused in every area of performance from Shakespeare to Stage Make-up. Students will also spend the week rehearsing for our final Off-Broadway musical showcase held at the award winning, state-of-the-art, theatrical venue NEW WORLD STAGES in Midtown Manhattan (home of Avenue Q, The 39 Steps and other hit shows).

On Wednesday of the Camp week campers will take an Orchestra seat at the matinee of the mega-hit musical Wicked. After the performance students will have a private “Talk Back” with cast members of the show. Also, special Broadway guests will be dropping by all week for autograph and Q & A sessions!

Excel Teen Intensive
New York City

Broadway Workshop’s Excel Teen Intensive is a 5-day summer program geared toward students with a strong passion for the performing arts. While every Excel student will study the 3 disciplines of musical theatre (Acting, Singing and Dance), this program allows students to choose a focus (Acting or Voice). Students will prepare solo and small group pieces in preparation for our end of program production, where they will perform for a panel of New York agents, mangers and casting directors, as well as family and friends.

In addition to their core classes Excel students will take master classes with New York’s top Casting Directors, Broadway Actors, Musical Directors and Choreographers.

Students enrolled in the Excel Teen Intensive Program should have prior experience in school, community or professional theatre. During the EXCEL week, students will also see a Broadway matinee of a new musical. After the performance students will have a private “Talk Back” with cast members of the show.

St. Michael’s Playhouse
1-Week Musical Theatre Camp at The Saint Michael’s Playhouse

Direct from NEW YORK CITY, The Broadway Workshop returns to Saint Michael’s Playhouse for this five day Musical Theatre Camp. Learn from Playhouse stars and artistic staff who have worked on Broadway and at theatres across the country.

This year campers will take center stage performing in 2 different hit Broadway musicals TBA. Every camper will get to step in the spotlight and be featured with lines and solos. In between rehearsals, campers will participate in special theatrical workshops taught by playhouse stars and staff. Campers will also have a special backstage tour of the Playhouse!
